So, there's a couple of things we could try.
First: try to change your Microsoft account password.
Second: You may not have completed your migration, please go to your Mojang account profile page and start the migration again.

Also, this is happening quite a lot, because some Microsoft services are going through an outage, this might be affecting the accounts migration.

I'm having the same issue I've changed my password and completed the migration but I'm still getting error but I'm also having no problem logging into the website

Thanks for your response,
I have made sure my account is fully migrated to Microsoft, and the issue still persists. I'm thinking the problem might be even more fundamental as I'm not even getting to the screen where I can put in my password, but rather the "Microsoft Login" button before that stage. I've attached an image to show which screen the error is occurring in.

How odd. Even if you reinstall Minecraft? Have you checked if you concluded the migration?

Yep, I gave minecraft a fresh install and everything says that I have fully migrated accross

This is happening quite a lot with the migration. If you try to log in, in the Minecraft website using your Microsoft account, it does log in?

Yes, I log in with my Microsoft account on the Minecraft website and that works fine
